Super Roman Conquest: Star Wars 1313 devs successful on Kickstarter
Super Roman Conquest developer SeaCliff Interactive - which includes ex-LucasArts veterans - has successfully funded its retro-themed RTS on Kickstarter. It's now coming to Windows, Mac, Linux, and Ouya.
At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign page raised $38,369 of its $30,000 goal with 17 hours left.
While the side-scrolling strategy romp is coming to four platforms, the team has opted-in to OUYA's Free the Games fund, meaning the format holder will match pledges from backers.
The team writes, "Since the LucasArts studio closed down earlier this year, we started working on the concept of a 3D strategy side-scroller. After we realized we had something special with Super Roman Conquest, we completely committed ourselves to the project. We already have the foundation of the core gameplay in place and are currently working on the meta game elements, polish, and additional content like new units and maps."
The art style is quite spiffing. Look:
Super Roman Conquest is pegged for a Summer 2014 release, with a closed beta phase due this holiday season.
