Street Fighter x Tekken on-disc character DLC hits consoles July 31
Capcom has announced 12 additional characters for Street Fighter X Tekken, which were originally planned as a DLC release alongside the Vita version of the game, will release later this month.
The roster consists of Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Jack, Bryan Fury, Alisa, Lars, Lei and Christie. Those who registered at EVO as a SFxT competitor at EVO will receive the 12 new characters for free.
"As for the PS Vita version, the 12 characters and alternate costumes for the core 38 characters will be available as free downloads," said the firm. "The 12 new fighters have alt costumes available as a pre-order incentive at GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon, and all DLC purchased can be shared between PS3 and Vita."
Capcom said it is aware that the 12 DLC characters "have been a contentious topic since they were discovered on the disc," and while it can cite its reasons why the fighters were on the disc such as "compatibility for all players, save HD space, download bandwidth, etc," in the end it had to "hear what the community had to say."
"The dev teams are listening, and promise to incorporate that feedback into future titles - fighting or otherwise," said Capcom.
A patch will also be released alongside the pack, with balancing affecting all characters.
Some of what is included in the patch is below:
- Ryu, Ken and Akuma's Tatsumaki Sempuu kyaku have all had their hitboxes reduced in size.
- Rolento's jabs addressed.
- Xiaoyu's crouching hard kick phoenix loops.
- Raven crouching HP loops.
- Auto-block gem has been re-balanced.
The 12-character DLC pack will be released on July 31 for 360 and PS3. It will run you 1600 MSP/$20.
