Street Fighter: The New Challengers is a new, animated adaptation
The epic Street Fighter empire is set to expand in the coming weeks with the release of a "motion comic production", Street Fighter: The New Challengers.
Apparently, a motion comic production takes currently-published comics and, ahem, adds motion to them. Instead of mere static images, the finished project contains "animation, voice-over, sound, music and special effects", creating an animated, feature-length film available on DVD.
As Ryu's journey around the world continues, Cammy's quest to discover her past takes some "unexpected" turns, Chun-Li is dragged from the jungles of Brazil to the depths of the Hong Kong underworld as she investigates Shadaloo, and Vega, hell-bent on revenge, wants to turn Ken's wedding shower into a bloodbath.
Expect some familiar faces to make an appearance too - schoolgirl Sakura, US Special Ops Guile and fan-favourites Blanka, Balrog, Gen, Fei-Long and even the Delta Red team.
Enough of the details though, let's see how this thing actually works, shall we?
For more information - including where and how to purchase the motion comic (pre-orders come with a Street Fighter figure, while the Limited Edition includes a RYU Street Fighter t-shirt) - head straight to Eagle One Media. Street Fighter: The New Challengers is due for release August 2, 2011.
Thanks to Go Nintendo for the heads-up on this one!
