Dan and Rose are back in Street Fighter 5 alongside a new V-Shift Mechanic, stage, and more coming with Season 5 on February 22.

Street Fighter 5 players will be pleased to know Dan and Rose will return to the game, and there's a new stage on the way and plenty more, so let's get it all out of the way.

With Dan, you can expect back his V-Skills to allow him to cancel any of his moves to perform his signature Taunts. One V-Skill, “Saikyo-Style Burairuten No Kamae,” is a taunt that opens up various combo paths that would not normally be possible and will make his moves safe.

V-Skill II, “Saikyo-Style Otokoboe,” allows him to cancel almost any normal move into another normal or special move - if timed properly. These V-Skills will not only build Dan’s V-Gauge, but also the V-Gauge of his opponent.

V-Triggers include his “Haoh Gadoken” fireball and is the only V-Trigger in the game that costs only one bar of V-Gauge. You can even charge it up. That is his V-Trigger I, his V-Trigger II “Tenchi Saikyo No Kata,” powers up his fireball and uppercut special moves.

His fireball will gain more hits, while his uppercut gains complete invincibility.

Rose also returns in Street Fighter 5 with returning moves and new ones.

In SF5, her “Soul Throw” has been replaced with a new anti-air move called “Soul Bind.” Instead of leaping towards her opponents, she now uses her Soul=powered scarf to grab airborne opponents.

She can also use her “Soul Spark” projectile which can now be thrown into the air as well, and each button press will have her throw it at different angles.

Brand new to her move set is “Soul Fortune”, which is Rose's V-Skill I. This allows her to summon tarot cards that will provide different buffs to herself and debuffs to opponents. Rose's V-Skill II is “Soul Satellite".

V-Trigger I is called “Soul Dimension,” and it is a teleportation move that gives Rose new mix-up opportunities. V-Trigger II is “Soul Illusion” as seen in the Street Fighter Alpha series. Here, she creates shadow illusions of herself.

In the upcoming update, you can also expect the new stage, Marina of Fortune along with the new V-System mechanic called V-Shift.

This new defensive mechanic will be available for all players for free, along with the next Battle Balance update, and will help you get out of tough situations at the cost of one bar of V-Gauge.

Unlike V-Reversal, V-Shift can be executed whenever during a match and it will make you fully invincible to attacks, throws, and projectiles - but only for a short time. A successful V-Shift will trigger a slow-motion effect, but if you use it when no attacks are coming your way, you will lose a full bar of V-Gauge.

You can also follow up the V-Shift move with “V-Shift Break" which will cause your character to do a forward-moving attack. If the attack connects, it has a chance to knock down your opponent.

Finally, you can expect some bonus Season 5 Pass content when Eleven drops into the game. The character will be released as a free bonus with a purchase of the Season 5 pass.

A prototype version of Street Fighter 3’s Twelve, Eleven can shape-shift into other life-forms and can act as a mimic. the character will transform itself into any character that you currently own in SF5. In addition, a random V-Skill and V-Trigger will also be selected when using the character.

This will also allow the character to retain Eleven’s color scheme, while still performing like the character being duplicated.

Again, Season 5 launches on February 22.
