Story of Seasons: Olive Town logs | Where to find Solid, Supple, Durable, and Mirage trees

You begin Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town on your grandfather's dilapidated farm. It's clearly been abandoned for some time, and has become badly overgrown with grasses and trees.

Chopping down these trees with an axe gives you a couple of resources. Tree sap isn't really useful at the start (but it's worth putting in storage for later). Logs, however, immediately come in handy for making repairs around the farm.

You can also refine logs into lumber using the Lumber Maker machine, which unlocks a lot of bigger and better crafting recipes down the line.

Varieties of trees and logs in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

There are five kinds of trees in Pioneers of Olive Town. Chopping them down with an axe gives you different varieties of logs. Each log type produces its equivalent lumber type by being processed in the Lumber Maker.

There are visual differences between each type of tree, but they're very subtle. Look carefully to make sure you're chopping down the right variety of tree!

Where to find regular logs

Regular logs come from the trees that surround your farm from the very start of the game. They have light coloured bark, downward-pointing branches, and a six-pointed base.

Where to find solid logs

You'll be able to get solid logs after you repair the broken bridge that's blocking access to the second area of the farm. These trees have very slightly darker bark, upward-pointing branches, and a five-pointed base.

Where to find supple logs and durable logs

After you've cleared away the fallen trees to unlock the third area, you'll be able to get both supple logs and durable logs.

Supple trees have much darker bark, downward-pointing branches, and a four-pointed base.

Durable trees also have a dark-reddish bark, upward-pointing branches, and a nine- or ten-pointed base.

Where to find mirage logs

The third area also contains mirage trees, though they're very rare.

Specifically, all trees that spawn on the outcrop around the dilapidated Hydroculture Plant will be mirage trees (regardless of appearance). There's not a lot of space for them there, so only expect three or four at a time.

Luckily, recipes that require mirage logs don't tend to call for very many of them.
