Steam Pipeline hopes to guide young people into games jobs
Valve has employed a bunch of teenagers to power Steam Pipeline, a new initiative giving guidance and information on breaking into a career in the games industry.
The main aim of the site is to "a connection to the world of teenagers that are asking many questions about getting into the gaming industry".
"We look to answer many of these questions and are willing to reach out to the community and give them the information they need," the site reads.
In the introductory video below, the team also explains that Pipeline is a way for Valve to experiment with integrating younger employees into the company, which is pretty interesting on its own.
Pipeline will eventually host a forum where members can ask questions, interact, and shape what content the team produces, but for now is offering a mailing list for alerts on when new features become available.
Thanks, Joystiq.
