Steam: Linux user percentage close to Mac, Ubuntu 12.10 most popular
Since Steam officially launched its Linux client in mid-February, users have increased to more than 2% of total user base.
2% doesn't sound like much perhaps, but it's worth noting that Mac users represent just over 3% of total users, despite having been supported for much longer. Trends show Mac operating systems are losing popularity while Linux is on the rise, too.
Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit is the most popular Linux OS. MacOS 10.8.2 64 bit is the most-used flavour os OS-X, and Windows 7 sits supreme for PC users.
