Steam in-house streaming locks host PC while in use, Valve posts feature FAQ

Valve has published a new FAQ online, which discusses the ins and outs of Steam's in-house streaming function.

It follows the opening of Steam streaming beta registration last week. The feature is intended to allow the streaming of games between computers in the home, include those linked to your TV.

You'll find the FAQ here. One section addresses the possibility of letting someone use your host PC while streaming. The guide explains, "No, your computer is dedicated to running the game and input is coming from both the remote client and the local system. It would be very confusing if someone were trying to use the computer at the same time."

It also adds, "Internet streaming is currently not supported."
