Steam hits 15 millon accounts

Gabe's laughing all the way to the bank. Valve's announced that Steam now has more than 15 milion user accounts and "realized year-over-year sales growth of 158% through the holiday season."

"We are accelerating our release of new functionality in the next year as well as finding new ways to work with our partners such as the release of Steamworks, which allows them to bring the many benefits of Steam to their packaged products," said Valve lead Gabe Newell.

Steam is rapidly becoming a ubiquitous platform in core demographic PC game delivery, as shown by its swift growth and the announcement of projects such as Steamworks. You have to love a company that's this smart, really. Can we have Left 4 Dead now, please?
