State of Decay 2 technical beta sign-ups now live

You can now register for the newly announced State of Decay 2 technical beta.

The State of Decay 2 technical beta was only just announced this week for PC, and Xbox One, and already, all Xbox One slots have been filled. PC players can still sign up, though probably not for long.

To throw your name in, you will first need to use your Xbox Live account to log into the game's website (or create a new one) and upload a DXDiag file. The sign up page will walk you through the process, but the DXDiag file and an Xbox Live account are a must.

You'll also need to answer a few questions as part of a survey. As you may have guessed, invites are not guaranteed. Developer Undead Labs said the technical beta will be starting soon, but did not confirm a date or time.

It's not clear what sort of content players can expect from the technical beta, but from the name, it sounds like this will most likely be a networking test rather than a content test.

We recently got a chance to play State of Decay 2, and though Alex was impressed with the upgrades the sequel has over the original, he felt that the push for a more open world comes with its own set of woes.

State of Decay 2 is out May 22 on PC, and Xbox One. The game will not have a battle royale mode.
