StarCraft II could go into 2009, says source
A development source has told videogaming247 that StarCraft II is unlikely to see light of day this year.
"I'd say it's going to be Q1 2009," said the man. "The marketing's being aimed at the fourth quarter [2008] but Q1 [2009] is a safer bet. No release date's been given yet because no one knows when it's going to be finished for definite."
Vivendi UK has issued a "no comment" on the talk.
Despite the game getting plenty of attention in recent months, it's now apparent that the game is further away than previously thought. IGN said earlier this week that the RTS is "in its alpha stages,” adding it was "difficult to say much about the overall design because, quite simply, the game isn't finished yet."
StarCraft II is going to playable at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris this June. Hopefully we'll get a release date then.
