StarCraft 2 players offered one free name change

StarCraft 2 developer Blizzard is offering players one free name change to anyone unhappy with the moniker they picked at the outset. Anyone with the name xxxK3rriganxxxSniPeZxxx or some equivalent might be in luck.

PlayerAttack explains that players can log into their Battle.net account management screen, then select StarCraft 2 from the drop-down. They'll now find a 'Character Name Change' option at the bottom of their license screen.

Simple really, and Blizzard is considering giving away free player name changes on a more regular basis, but warned that they don't stack. So you can't stockpile 50 name changes for example.

In a statement the developer said, "Today’s name change will replace any unused name changes that were previously available for your account. We’re also re-evaluating our approach to the name change process internally in order to offer free name changes much more frequently going forward. We’ll have more details on this at a later date."
