Star Wars: The Old Republic consolidates servers, all characters migrated

Star Wars: The Old Republic has migrated all players onto high-population servers in a bid to end the MMORPG's tumbleweed feeling.

BioWare began testing its Mega Server tech last week, and said in a weekend update that destination servers had been fully upgraded to meet the demands of migrated players.

Players had been encouraged to take advantage of free character transfers over the last few weeks; those who failed to do so have been forcibly migrated, according to PC Gamer.

"If your characters have been moved, you can find their new location on the server selection screen by clicking on the “Characters” column. Please be aware that no characters have been deleted as part of this process – all of your characters are still available to you and are ready to play," BioWare said.

"However, you may find a red exclamation point next to your character’s name on the character selection screen. This means that due to the consolidation, you will have to rename that character."

An FAQ goes into detail on how renaming candidates were selected among other useful information, which may comfort you in the wake of that most frightening of concepts: change.
