Star Wars Battlefront: Fighter Squadron mode revealed, gameplay coming June 15
DICE will show off the first gameplay footage for Star Wars Battlefront on June 15.
Star Wars Battlefront will undoubtedly be a big part of EA's presence at E3, and the event as a whole. Developer DICE revealed today that the first gameplay for the game will be shown on June 15, the same day of EA's E3 conference.
DICE revealed more in its blog post as well. A new game mode called 'Fighter Squadron'.
"You could see a tiny snippet of this in our trailer where you saw the Fighter Squadron mode, where you engage in huge Starfighter battles over canyons big enough to be truly epic," said Niklas Fegraeus, design director at DICE.
"Then, for those not in the mood for large scale battles, we have created Missions where players can, for example, take on armies of AI or test their piloting skills. All our Missions can be played either alone or cooperatively, making them perfect for some quick Star Wars action when you have a friend over."
The reveal trailer did show snippets of large maps where TIE Fighters, X-Wings, and Snowspeeders were engaged, so that's probably what he's referring to.
Fegraeus added that the new modes will have maps that cater to their specific "experiences."
