Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is getting Rise of Skywalker content this month, Celebration Edition revealed
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will soon receive new content from the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker movie.
DICE has revealed the content coming to Star Wars: Battlefront 2 in celebration of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. As we've come to expect, the game will be updated with new locations and heroes straight from the movie beginning December 17.
In this case, all players are getting the new tropical planet shown in recent trailers - which we don't know the name of yet. This new destination will be available in co-op where you'll get to play as either Resistance or First Order. Other locations from the new trilogy, such as Takodana, Jakku, and Starkiller Base are also joining co-op.
You can also expect four new reinforcements (enhanced troopers) inspired by the new trilogy in December. Those being the First Order Sith Trooper, the First Order Jet Trooper, as well as the Gunner and Spy units for the Resistance.
In January, Battlefront 2 will be getting two new heroes in BB-8 for the Resistance, and BB-9E for the First Order. Capital Supremacy will be expanded once again with new maps on the jungle planet, as well as Jakku.
DICE also unveiled the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 - Celebration Edition, available starting today. The Celebration Edition comes with all customisation content released for the game until December 20. That includes new hero appearances, trooper and reinforcement skins, plus all emotes, voice lines and victory poses.
Since all of Battlefront 2's post-launch gameplay content is free, you'll also have access to everything released so far, as well as future content. Certain customisation items that were previously exclusive to pre-order players or deluxe edition owners are not part of this pack.
The Celebration Edition is priced $40 on all platforms, and existing players can upgrade to it for $25. It's also included as part of the Origin Access Premier subscription.
