Star Wars: Battlefront 2 players are building robots, using rubber bands to grind for Credits
Now that EA has temporarily removed Crystals (microtransactions) from Star Wars: Battlefront 2, the only way to get in-game gear is by grinding for Credits.
Credits, of course, is what you'll be using to buy crates. Which, as we've explained in our progression systems breakdown, is a major way in how you make progress in Star Wars: Battlefront 2.
Still, Credit rewards are not that great, but inventive players looking to grind them out have come up with some solutions that don't require them to actually play the game. The most elaborate one was created by Reddit user Lowberg, who designed a basic robot that presses buttons and moves around.
The movement is enough that the game won't kick the player for inactivity. Taking part in multiplayer matches awards your with a few Credits, regardless of how well you did. Although the amount is small, it'll add up if you keep doing it for a while.
But, as Reddit user F0ngen discovered, you don't actually need any fancy equipment to do the job. The player simply tied two rubber bands around each side of the controller and analogue stick, ensuring constant movement.
They're both pretty smart, but the unfortunate side effect is that they result in creating huge amounts of AFK farmers that ruin matches for others.
