New Star Wars Battlefront 2 patch will nerf Wookies and fix bugs, dodging and rolling
A new Star Wars Battlefront 2 patch will nerf Wookies, tweak heroes, and "address more than a handful of items and misc. bug fixes", according to Mat Everett, Star Wars Battlefront community manager.
This comes after DICE design director Dennis Brännvall confirmed a number of changes had been made internally to the game on Twitter.
"Just wanted to provide a quick update on the upcoming happenings as we have seen a flurry of tweets from Dennis becoming the 'Yes' man in the last few hours," Everett said on EA's official Battlefront forum.
"This patch is in the approval stage and should arrive soon pending those approvals."
Everett went on to say that the patch would adjust Heroes, Wookie Warriors, Specialist, Heavy and Officer troopers, as well as weapons.
Once the patch is live, you'll be able to view the change notes from the game updates section of the forum.
Yesterday, we reported that despite the sustained controversy surrounding its use of loot boxes, Star Wars Battlefront 2 was still the most downloaded game on the European PlayStation Store in December, and the third most downloaded in the US.
In December EA CFO Blake Jorgensen addressed the blacklash, saying that the issue of how to handle microtransactions going forward had been mooted at EA.
“Over time, we’ll address how we will want to bring the [microtransactions] either into the game or not and what form we will decide to bring it into," he said.
Interestingly, Brännvall also said on Twitter that there'd be new information about skins "very shortly", suggesting that EA could indeed implement purchasable cosmetic skins in Battlefront 2.
