Star Wars: Battlefront 2 all DLC including Captain Phasma and Finn will be free
Along with a look at some lovely Star Wars: Battlefront 2 multiplayer gameplay today during EA Play at E3 2017, DICE dropped a bit of news on some future DLC.
According to DICE, the first DLC drop for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will include not only the planet Crait from Episode 7: The Last Jedi, but Captain Phasma and Finn - who will be played by actor John Boyega - from The Force Awakens. And it, like all other DLC, won't be locked behind a Season Pass.
The characters will come with new Star Cards which allow the player to customize their heroes and classes. All these cards, Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic can be earned through play. Completing the in-game quests and challenges, taking part in events, and opening Crates can all grant Star Cards.
Expansions for the game will be released as "themed-seasons" with the first arriving in December and focusing on The Last Jedi. The film arrives in theaters on December 15, so expect the content to drop rather close to the theatrical release.
As preciously reported in our post on the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 multiplayer trailer, all characters, planetary conflicts, starfighters, space battles and all post-release content will be free. Plus, players will be able to acquire new spacecraft and heroes Battle Points.
You can thank the community for all of this, because as EA CEO Andrew Wilson said during the EA Play conference, "gamer feedback to Battlefront wasn't always positive." While he said the criticism was constructive, the company took it to heart and gave the game more depth and more choices when it comes to DLC.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2's single-player campaign will cover the 30-year story gap between Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi and Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
It will be releases on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One November 17.
