Square will announce Parasite Eve classics for EU "at a time that is correct for the market"
Square Enix has just told VG247 that any impending announcement for an EU classics release of Parasite Eve 1 and 2 will be made when it is "correct for the European market."
Square Japan formally announced earlier this week it was releasing the two previous Parasite Eve games for PS1 onto the Japanese PS Store next month ahead of the release of the next title in the series, The 3rd Birthday, in the country on December 22 for PSP.
The classics release for PS3 and PSP were first teased by the company's Tetsuya Nomura and 3rd Birthday producer Yoshinori Kitase.
"We’ll announce future plans and releases at a time that is correct for the European market," a Square spokesperson just told us via email.
Square is yet to announce a date for The 3rd Birthday for Europe, but the publisher's US arm has already confirmed it'll release in the west by Q1 2011.
Parasite Eve 1 released in 1998, although never made it to Europe, while Parasite Eve 2 launched in 2000; both for PS1.
