Square Enix has "two to three" upcoming games based on new IP

Square Enix president Yoichi Wada has revealed the publisher's plans to expand its line up of brands.

"Regarding yet unannounced IPs, we should certainly be able to announce two to three titles to everyone within a few years," Wada said in a financial briefing, as reported by Siliconera.

Wada's next comment seems to suggest Square Enix plans to have a catalogue of ten solid franchises.

"With a requirement that an IP has to be capable of making a continuous profit contribution, we are aiming to establish ten IPs," he said.

Following on from the success of Human Revolution, one of these ten will be Deus Ex, Wada confirmed.

Square Enix has at least six solid, proven international franchises, suggesting it has up to four more new or revived brands in the works. One is expected to be an Unreal-powered medieval action RPG, as outed by Famitsu earlier this week.
