Split/Second game director wants £125,000 for Rage Ride
The team at the newly formed studio, IronFist Games, is headed by Split/Second game director Nick Baynes, and is looking to bring its Road Rash-meets-Split/Second game to the masses through Kickstarter.
On its Kickstarter page, the developer is describing the game as "Action packed biker-based combat racing" game, with heavy emphasis on modding.
The developer is however going for a different approach for its project. The team will allow backers access to private forums where they can generate ideas and discuss the design of the game, affecting the game at a very early stage.
"On this campaign we’ve deliberately left it concept art free and design detail light - I want to shape the ideas and direction with the people who back the project as one big extended design team," said Baynes in an email sent to VG247.
"Other Kickstarter campaigns have promised to give backers a "behind the scenes" view of development in the past, but I believe this will be the first that invites them all to be contributing members of the design team, if they want to be involved," he added.
The developer is working on a PC release first and is relying on an open file format, so that players can create their own environments. It's asking for £125,000 in funding, and at the time of writing, the project has amassed a very small amount of £130, with 17 days to go.
