Lorry transporting Special Edition of Splatoon to GAME UK has been stolen
A lorry transporting the Special Edition of Splatoon from Nintendo’s European warehouse has been stolen, according to a notice sent to customer from GAME UK.
The theft means the retailer is, understandably, unable to fulfill customer orders of the Special Edition which includes a Squid Inkling amiibo figurine.
To compensate customer, GAME is offering the standard version of the title as a replacement along with a £10 discount. Customers also able to cancel their original order if they wish as GAME will not be receiving replacements for the stolen merchandise.
"We can confirm that the lorry transporting the Splatoon stock from Nintendo’s European warehouse to GAME UK has been stolen," Nintendo said in a statement, via MCV. "Included as part of this delivery was GAME’s allocation of the Splatoon + Squid Inkling amiibo and as a result we are unable to honour pre-orders for this item in GAME.
"We are working with GAME to contact those customers affected. Whilst these unfortunate circumstances were out of Nintendo UK and GAME’s control, we apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment that this has caused."
A copy of the email sent to customers has been posted on Games Radar.
In North America, a lorry is similar to a semi-truck, in case you are unfamiliar with the term. About Travel explains it rather well for you.
Splatoon releases in Europe and North America on May 29, and review scores for the game have been rather positive.
