Spicy Horse's Jack and the Beanstalk title called Crazy Fairies
Spicy Horse co-founder American McGee has officially named the title that teased Jack and the Beanstalk-like art last week as Crazy Fairies.
McGee confirmed the name in an interview with PlayerAttack at GDC.
The title itself actually isn't solely based on the children's fairytale - it's based on "a multitude of fairy tale stories from around the world," according to McGee - but is a turn-based, multiplayer-focussed weapon game similar to Worms or Wild Ones.
Crazy Fairies is one of three games from Spicy Horse: the other being BigHead Bash on Facebook and the Little Red Riding Hood-inspired Akaneiro on iPad.
While it isn't known if it'll come to iPad for social platforms like Facebook, on the subject of consoles themselves, McGee wouldn't rule out a return, but said its current strategy of social and mobile is doing fine for now.
"We are not interested in publishing to Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo proprietary platforms (at least not right out of the gate)," he said.
"There's only so much bandwidth a team can throw at various incarnations of the games they build - both from a development/support perspective, and from a business development perspective.
"Our 'path' is the one we view as having the least resistance - iOS, Android and web/social. If, after we find success on those platforms, we feel the need for "more" then we might publish elsewhere. This strategy means we can better focus our limited resources on making the best games possible."
Spicy Horse made last year's Alice: Madness Returns on PS3, 360 and PC.
