South Park: The Stick of Truth censored for Australia

The Australian version of South Park: The Stick of Truth has been slightly censored, despite earning an R18+ rating.

Ubisoft told PlayerAttack that the build of the game submitted to the Australian Classification Board for review is a "slightly modified version of South Park The Stick of Truth".

Interestingly, the site did a bit of digging and found that another version of the game had previously been rated, under the title Codename - very subtle, Ubisoft, but the descriptions of the two games match perfectly.

Unless reports are made available for both titles, it's unlikely we'll discover how or if the two versions differed, and what exactly was altered between the original game, which will release uncut in North America and Europe, and the final, censored Australian version.

South Park: The Stick of Truth arrives on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March. It's not in any way the first game to be censored in Australia; even after an R18+ ratings category was introduced in January 2013, State of Decay had to be modified to meet Australia's strict drug content guidelines.
