Sony is now accepting beta applications for PS4 firmware update 5.0
Sony is prepping the next major system update for PlayStation 4 and it's looking for beta testers.
Firmware 5.0 for PS4 will be so large, as with the last major update, testing is necessary.
Starting today, PS4 owners in Europe and North America can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester. As with previous firmware tests, participants will be given an advanced look at some of the improvements and new features.
In February of this year, beta testers for the last major software update, version 4.50, were able to play around with features such as external HDD support, Boost Mode, Voice chat for Remote Play, Custom Wallpaper and Profile Color and other extras.
As usual, Sony didn't provide information on what would be included in the beta, so we'll have to wait until early-
August for testers to spill the beans ahead of its official release. Someone always does.
Interested parties in North America and Europe can register to be a beta tester anytime between today and the start of the beta in early August.
More information on the PlayStation 4 beta requirements can be found through the sign-up links.
Those already part of the program will receive an email with instructions on downloading the beta.
