Sony will not host a press briefing at gamescom, chooses Paris Games Week instead

Sony will not host a press conference at gamescom 2015 this year. Instead, it will host a press event at Paris Games Week in October.

Sony Europe confirmed the news to Gematsu, following a report from GameBlog.

“We’re delighted to announce that we will be hosting an international media briefing at Paris Games Week on October 27," reads the statement from Sony.

"With the changes this year of E3 taking place a week later and gamescom taking place earlier, we feel that both PlayStation and the wider industry would benefit from a major news milestone later in the year, during the most important period for gaming."

Sony said it would share "exciting announcements" at Paris Games Week and more information would be shared closer to event.

The annual gamescom event will take place at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany August 5-9.
