Sonic the Hedgehog movie reviews round up - all the scores
Sonic the Hedgehog arrives in theaters tomorrow, and many outlets have gone live with reviews.
Reviews for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie have started to go live, and we've round up a few for you.
Currently, reviews are mixed, with some enjoying the film, and others not enjoying it as much. The major consensus is a middle of the road verdict as it holds a 45 Metacritic rating as of press time.
In the film, Sonic has arrived on Earth and along with his best bud Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) they try to stop Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and "using his immense powers for world domination."
The film has had its ups and downs since the first trailer was revealed, as Sonic fans took to social media to deride Sonic's appearance in the first trailers. The outcry led to the character being given a makeover, thus delaying the film's initial release date.
Sonic's redesign was accomplished by Tyson Hesse, the animation director for Sonic Mania’s cutscenes and director of the Sonic Mania Adventures animated series. He definitely looks better.
Scores for the film are rounded up below. It's worth noting some outlets did not provide a score with the review.
