Sonic 2 heading to 3DS eShop, but there's a catch.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - known by many fans as 'the best one' - is heading to the Nintendo 3DS eShop. But don't get too excited just yet.
ONM reports that it's the Game Gear version which, while still a rather superb platformer, isn't the same as the Mega Drive edition.
The 8-bit version is as tough as nails, and sees Sonic running around mine shafts, hang-gliding through the clouds and dying a lot. It might sound like a kick in the stones, but it's worth looking into when it launches in the West.
No release date has been given, but we will post up a confirmation when we know more.
