Frictional Games released another tense masterpiece with SOMA. But for some players the prospect of playing through another nerve wrecking Frictional experience might be a bit too much. That's why for SOMA's Xbox One release, Frictional will include a new "Safe Mode" where players can go through the entire campaign without the fear of being murdered by one of the game's monsters.

The follow-up to Frictional Games' Amnesia: The Dark Descent comes out on the Xbox One on December 1, and with the new console release, Frictional Games will include an optional Safe Mode. With it, players can travel through the game's story protected from the hostile creatures and the fear of death.

It's a smart move considering that Frictional Games' reputation for terrifying games may have prevented some interested players from trying out SOMA for fear of...well fear. With Safe Mode, players can safely play the game and experience the story without having to worry about getting killed and starting over from a check point.

Safe Mode will be available simultaneously for free on the PC, but will arrive at a later date on the PS4.
