Solar Flux Pocket out now on iOS and Android, launch screens inside

Solar Flux Pocket developer Firebrand Games has launched its space-faring puzzler on iOS and Android, along with a batch of cosmic launch screens.

In a press release sent to VG247, the Scottish studio also announced that the iPad version has been discounted to £1.49 / $1.99 in celebration of the mobile launch.

The artful game sees players reigniting dead suns to create gravity wells that slingshot their craft between stars to conserve fuel. There's also black holes, asteroids and other hazards out there to smash your pod to pieces.

In a statement, Firebrand Games managing director Mark Greenshields said, “Solar Flux has already picked up a lot of critical acclaim and a number of award nominations for the game's fantastic combination of intuitive inertia-based controls, amazing physics and clever level design. iPad owners and Steam users around the world have contacted us to tell us how much they're enjoying playing.

"When it came to mobile phones however, we wanted to be careful. Smaller screens and touch controls meant that we couldn't have the larger levels and all of the 'space' we wanted. So the team went back to the drawing board and found a way to take all of the elements people love about Solar Flux and recreate them in a way which takes advantage of the smaller screens and creates a more immediate and intimate way to play the game. We're very pleased with the way it's turned out and we're looking forward to helping more players to save the universe, one dying sun at a time.”
