SOE's Player Studio allows you to create in-game items to sell on SOE Marketplace
SOE has announced Player Studio, a new program where players can create in-game items and sell them on the marketplace in participating SOE online games.
Player Studio users can download sample geometry for in-game objects and use third-party art tools to develop, design and personalize items.
“For the first time in SOE history, players will be able to build and sell their own items, truly creating a unique, customizable online marketplace within our games,” said SOE president John Smedley.
“At SOE, we believe everyone is a gamer at heart, and our goal with Player Studio is to provide a platform on which our players can further explore their inner gamer while showcasing their passion for the games they love. We are looking forward to seeing our players’ creativity come to life in an entirely new way.”
Players will create a name and item description for each and explain how the item fits into the game’s narrative storyline. Upon completion, the item can be submitted to SOE for review and possible inclusion in the SOE Marketplace.
If selected, SOE will share 40% of the net amount from the sale.
You can find out more on Player Studio through the official website.
More information will be released at SOE Live 2012 at Bally's in Las Vegas, Nevada October 18-21.
