SOCOM 4 DLC adds Evac, brings back Demolition mode
Long-time series fans are in for a treat with the latest SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals DLC packs, which includes the much-loved Demolition mode.
As detailed on the US PS Blog, the pack will cost $10 and turn up in this week's PSN update.
Capturing, transporting and guarding an explosive payload to destroy the opposition's base. The pack comes with four Demolition-ready maps, each of which supports a number of other modes, too.
- “Departure” – Navigate trains and tunnels in this subway station as you hunt down the enemy.
- “Overflow” – Both distanced and close-quarters combat take place around a massive dam.
- “Bitter Jungle” – Get out of the city and into the jungle in this classic SOCOM environment.
- “Ruins” – Do battle in this classic SOCOM map’s ancient ruins.
Six character skins and two new weapons also make an appearance - the slow but powerful HS-C3 and the highly accurate 552.
Beginning tomorrow, all new purchases of the game from Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop in the US or EB Games in Canada will be rewarded with a code for free access to the DLC.
A second new piece of DKC, the Evac Co-op Pack, will become available on November 1 for $7.99. Again, the content adds a new multiplayer mode, which puts players deep in enemy territory with orders to fight through to a pick up vehicle.
The new mode works on the existing co-op maps, but also one new scenario, Onslaught. Another six new skins and two weapons are also included - the single-shot killers AM50 and M82A1A.
SOCOM 4 is a PlayStation 3 exclusive, the latest in an established franchise. A trailer for the Demolition pack follows.
