The Blackmore project is helmed by one Jeremy Blaustein, the same man responsible for localising Hideo Kojima's revered adventure game Snatcher. He's assembled an elite team of artists and musicians in Japan to help create the project. The game will also star a little-known chap called David Hayter. You might have heard of him.

At the time of writing the Blackmore Kickstarter has made $12,370 of the team's $200,000 goal with 29 days left.

Hayter plays Jonas Blackmore, head of the titular family. His sister Emma Honda-Blackmore is the star, and the plot sees players guiding her through an alternative London in 1888; a place of invention and steampunk style. Emma founds a medical clinic inthe city to help tend to the poor majority and is watched over by her robotic companion Descartes.

The game opens with Emma witnessing a horrific murder, and both she and Descartes must use their cunning and gadgets to find the killer across hand-crafted 2.5D environments. She can also use her hi-tech monocle to snap photos of evidence and store them later use, along with other forensic tools.
