Slitherine says there's money to be made in the PSPgo market
Slitherine, which just merged with Matrix Games, feels that due to the lack of competition in the market, there's money to be made on PSPgo, despite the handheld's slow sales.
Speaking with MCV, Slitherine's marketing director Marco Minoli said that since Mini and PSN titles are "unexploited by big publishers", the lack of competition in the market is a good thing for the firm.
“PSP and iPhone are key platforms for us,” said Minoli. "PSPgo has been a great platform for us. PSN titles – both full titles and minis – are mostly unexploited by big publishers. There’s a lack of competition, which helps a lot in terms of sell-through.
"There’s just a few releases for PSPgo, compared to the thousands for iPhone. PSP is also a very suitable platform for our titles as it’s more for the core gamer who can invest time in their games.
"iPhone is great for the more casual player.”
Speaking on the merge with Matrix, Minoli said that the deal "will see Slitherine’s titles better represented in the US" while giving Matrix an "in" with UK retail.
