Slip on Majora's Mask with Retronauts Micro Episode 2
We celebrate the upcoming 3DS remake by discussing why this great little N64 Zelda is so misunderstood.

Hope everyone out there had a great holiday! In the five days since I've touched my MacBook, I'm afraid I've forgotten how to write, and what most words mean. But if this is the sacrifice I need to make for some extended free time, so be it.
If you've been paying attention to my work over the years, you probably know I'm a mega-fan of 2000's The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: It ranks up there with Dark Souls and EarthBound in the category of "Games Bob Mackey Won't Shut the Hell Up About." And this love of Majora's Mask gave me my first guest spot on Retronauts waaay back in 2009, when I called in as the show's remote expert. So I guess we've come full circle!
If you're a savvy USgamer reader, I probably don't need to tell you why Majora's Mask is so great. (And if you do need some assistance, here's an article I wrote earlier this year.) But, even though it's reached cult status in the 15 years since its release, Majora's Mask still has a reputation for being unfriendly. To quiet these fears, I assembled this little podcast to go over why you shouldn't be afraid of this black sheep of the Zelda family. It's unfamiliar, alienating, and bleak, but that's what makes it so great!
Just a note before you listen: This was the first Micro we recorded, so the format isn't completely nailed down at this point—it's a bit longer than these things will normally run. I'd also like to thank the great Chris Antista of Laser Time for stopping by and bringing his usual brand of salty merriment. And, if you haven't done so yet, please follow our Twitter and Facebook pages for up-to-the minute updates on old stuff.
