Skyrim Script Extender is coming to Special Edition, which means a lot of your favourite mods could start working again
Skyrim mods that stopped working with Special Edition could be resurrected.
Skyrim: Special Edition is great and it was really nice that it rolled out for free on PC, but the upgrade did prove incompatible with a lot of your favourite mods.
Many of these problems could be fixed thanks to the Skyrim mod team behind the popular Skyrim Script Extender, which has announced it is working on a new version compatible with Special Edition.
The team is currently anticipating a mid-March release for the beta version of Skyrim Script Extender Special Edition. It will be known as SKSE64 to differentiate it from the original version, which is still available for those who haven't upgraded.
As PC Gamer notes, this mod is a necessary component of many other mods, including SkyUI, which is itself an important part of another crop of mods. It's required to make the most of Frostfall, too.
Getting this one back up and running should help the Skyrim modding scene get back on track after Special Edition proved to be a bit of a speedbump.
