Sky Sports working on CS:GO documentary that'll talk gambling, case-opening

Sky Sports is interested in taking a look at the world of eSports gambling, starting with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Silencers ahoy!

British TV network Sky Sports has commissioned a new documentary that's going to tackle the effects - good and bad - eSports gambling can have on a person as well as the industry. The film is created by Joel Dale and another unnamed partner, and he went looking for interviews with players who wish to share their experiences.

Dale started a new Reddit thread where he asked if people are willing to appear on camera or over Skype to tell their stories with eSports gambling. It's not just about Counter-Strike either, Dale adds, and anonymity can be arranged.

Speaking to PCGamesN, Dale said the duo behind the upcoming film do not intend for it to be a hit-piece, and want to offer a fair representation of the scene. Another reason for this approach is because the duo has also been involved in betting and gambling in CS:GO themselves, spending five figures and countless skins between them.

Dale promises to incorporate other angles into the film as well, such as the benefits of gambling and what it brings to the industry and are discussing this with "major tournament organisers" in the UK scene.

The documentary is still in pre-production, so don't expect it for some time.
