Skull and Bones reveal trailer shows off the open-world pirate game
Here's the reveal trailer for Ubisoft Singapore's new pirate PvP game Skull and Bones.
The game was shown off at Ubisoft's E3 2017 presentation today, along with a need to know trailer, which can be seen in the announcement post.
Players will take to the high seas and engage in online naval open world gameplay in both PvP and PvE. It is set during the Golden Age of Piracy and takes place in the Indian Ocean, and players will encounter many different environments and cultures.
Ubisoft Singapore hasn't shared details on the locations just yet, but there's plenty of time to learn more about the game before it's released.
As reported in the PvP post, players will navigate their own massive warship, try to become rich, join others in sea battles, form guilds, and even become a turncoat. If you so desire.
As an upstart pirate captain newly arrived in Indian Ocean, players will establish a hideout, recruit crew members, and and start plundering ships. As they progress, they will be able to customize their ships in both looks and abilities.
The idea for Skull and Bones began when Ubisoft Singapore were working on the naval combat and water technology in Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. After playing around with a multiplayer prototype based on Black Flag, the idea to make a pirate game was born.
Along with battles and plundering, players will be able to explore an open-world which reacts to their actions, and become the target of pirate hunters.
This fleet will arrive on the scene when you have amassed enough wealth and the only way to escape is through a narrow reef passage before they catch up with you - and blow your ship to bits.
Skull and Bones is slated for fall 2018 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It will also feature enhancements for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.
