Shaker - Old-School RPG Kickstarter cancelled by Brathwaite and Hall

Shaker, the Kickstarter project known as Old-School RPG, has been cancelled by its creators Brenda Brathwaite and Tom Hall.

According to an update on the project's Kickstarter page, the game's pitch "just wasn't strong enough to get the traction," the developers thought it "needed to thrive."

"Sure, it may have made it," said Braithwaite and Hall. "We could have fought our way to a possibly successful end. In reading your feedback and talking it over internally, however, we decided that it made more sense to kill it and come back with something stronger. In game design, mercy killing is the law.

"Please accept our thanks and apologies in equal order. Expect something more soon."

Shaker received backing from 7,665 people, and the project raised $249,015 in the 15 days it was live. The Kickstarter goal was for $1 million with a stretch goal of $1.9 million for a second game.
