Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle starts off simply, but rapidly ramps up.
Everybody had a good laugh when Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle leaked, but attitudes seemed to change almost as soon as it was revealed at E3 2017. XCOM, but with rude rabbits in costumes? Why does this feel so ... right?
Nintendo and Ubisoft hosted a round of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle previews recently and one common thread I've noticed in what I've read is that the starting sections are pretty shallow, but a look at a later mission reveals things getting much more complex and satisfying pretty quickly.
That's something Ubsioft addresses briefly in this video, which focuses on the Spooky Trails area of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, giving a very brief glimpse of some of the more complex systems. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle releases later this month exclusively for Switch. If you like XCOM and Fire Emblem, or you like the idea of them but never got into it, maybe this will be your gateway drug? The user-friendly opening missions sound like they gently ease you in to the Rabbid hole of builds and tactics and that.
