Shenmue creator tweets E3 2015 reference, crowd goes wild
Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki may be teasing an E3 2015 reveal. Or he may not. Welcome to the fandom.
Shenmue fans have long awaited a third entry in the series, and every year at least one rumour crops up that it's going to happen.
It never does, though, and that's why Shenmue 3 has become a byword for things that will never happen.
So here we are on the merry go round again. Suzuki posted the following on Twitter:
The text says "seen at E3", or thereabouts. Forklifts have become something of an icon for Shenmue.
Does this definitely mean a new Shenmue game is coming? No. No it does not. Are fans clinging to it as if it were a lifesaver? Yes. Yes they are.
You have now been fully informed and can make up your own mind. Tease? Joke? Troll? Keep an eye on all the E3 2015 livestreams on the off chance, I guess.
