Shenmue 3 trademark confirmed as hoax by Sega, publisher now investigating

Shenmue 3 was recently trademarked online, which eventually turned out to be a hoax. Sega has now confirmed that it was nonsense and is looking into where it came from in the first place.

In a statement to CVG, a Sega spokesperson wrote, "Sega has confirmed that the recent application for the trademark of Shenmue III is a fake and is looking into the origins of this application."
