Shadow Cities LBARMMORPG out now
Shadow Cities, a location based augmented reality MMORPG, has launched in Europe. Finally, having an iPhone really does mean you're special, and I can use an amazing acronym.
Shadow Cities grants you a secret identity as a mage, and allows players and teams to enter into magical turf wars over their very own neighbourhoods.
It's a little like trying to be FourSquare mayor of everything, except when you meet an opponent, you try to leave them as a sizzling puddle of occult fallout.
The game's plot has magic returning to the world after a 600 year absence. As one of the lucky few who can harness this power, you have to keep your status secret from the muggles, so duels are carried out using your iPhone as a focus or wand. See two guys on opposite sides of the bus bent over the iPhones? They may be members of the game's two opposing factions, engaged in a psychic test of magical force and will.
