Senran Kagura Burst headed to 3DS in North America & Europe

Those who guessed Senran Kagura as the subject of XSEED's recent teases were absolutely correct.

UPDATE: We've just been informed by Marvelous AQL Europe that the game is heading to Europe as both a digital and physical 3DS release, combining the first two Senran Kagura games in one package.

ORIGINAL STORY: Shack News reports Senran Kagura Burst is the chosen game. It's the second of two 3DS titles in the series.

Senran Kagura Burst has players in control of five students at a secret ninjitsu school. In between side-scrolling action sections, there are visual novel style adventure segments. XSEED has been able to secure licensing to retain the original Japanese voice acting with English subtitles.

The Senran Kagura franchise also includes a Vita game, anime and manga. The property is famous for gratuitous fanservice, and in this one, damage taken by characters is indicated by equivalent damage to their clothing. The trailer below spells it out fairly explicitly.

Senran Kagura Burst hits 3DS in North America sometime in northern autumn. European release has not been confirmed.
