Sega's wishlist for PC releases has all the same games as yours - including Yakuza and Persona

Yakuza and Persona games on PC? It could happen.

Sega has begun to answer the prayers of PC gamers, an increasingly important demographic for the Japanese publisher, by porting over critically-acclaimed titles like Vanquish and Bayonetta.

Asked by PC Gamer what it might bring next, and specifically whether Yakuza and Persona are inbound, Sega Europe's John Clark hinted that the publisher agrees with you on what it should do next.

"If I asked you to write me a list of ten games you want Sega to bring out on PC, it probably isn't any different from the list [we have]," he said.

"If you send [your] list over I'll tell you which ones we can tick, which ones are on our list, which ones are possibilities, which ones are not possibilities, which ones we've talked about, which ones we're talking about, which ones we're working on, you know, they'll be on that list."

Clark said specifically that Yakuza is on Sega's list and that the publisher is talking about bringing it to PC, and "of course" so is Persona.

Although it's no guarantee that Sega will be able to make it happen, it's nice to know the publisher is on the same wavelength. The Yakuza series is great but it's definitely been an under-appreciated cult favourite and would benefit from a wider audience now that it's finally generating some awareness. (If you're interested in getting onboard, look for Yakuza Kiwami releasing in August for PS4; it's a remake of the first Yakuza game.)

Persona need no introduction after the success of Persona 5, but as with Yakuza, making the older games more widely accessible certainly couldn't hurt.

More and more Japanese publishers are realising the PC is a great place for niche and cult games, which are very expensive to release on console, and get a second chance to find their audience through Steam. Hopefully that success also means we'll see more timely day-and-date PC games on new releases out of Japan.
