Sea of Thieves updated with Maiden Voyage tutorial
Sea of Thieves gets a tutorial in the form of a Maiden Voyage
Pun fully intended by Rare. The open sea can be a dangerous place, which makes Sea of Thieves’ all new tutorial a useful onboarding (lol) session for any new players hoping to become a pirate legend.
Since launch, the game has been consistently updated with new content – content sorely needed after a relatively bare bones (lol) launch. And yet, a tutorial was never a part of those updates.
Sea of Thieves is quite simple, once you get the hang of it, but the minutiae of Rare’s sea-faring swashbuckler do take a bit of explaining, especially because practically everything you do in game - like navigate maps, manage your sails, adjust your speed, control your anchor and repair the ship in the event of damage – is all done manually.
The Maiden Voyage is available to all players from the main menu, which is helpful because it may have been a while since you last played the game.
If it has, you should catch up on all the great stuff that’s been added in the last few months. In August the game moved to a monthly update schedule with the launch of Dark Relics and since then we’ve had Smugger’s Fortune, which adds pets and voyages.
Most recently, the game was updated with the Seabound Soul update in November. It featured an all-new, lore-focused Tall Tale quest. In it, you join Captain Pendragon to “uncover the mystery of the feared ship, the Ashen Dragon.”
They all mark great additions to one of the generation’s most charming multiplayer games.
