Scurvy Scallywags video shows off Ron Gilbert's iOS puzzler
Scurvy Scallywags, the match-three RPG mash-up coming to iOS from Rob Gilbert and DeathSpank co-creator Clayton Kauzlaric, has a trailer available below.
In the Beep Games published title, players move their pirate around the board by matching three or more tiles. With each match, the board shifts in the direction you swiped, so you can use strategy to line up your pirate with items you need or avoid enemies who are stronger than you.
But there's more to it than that: players will fight and pillage their way through" four mysterious lands to find the hidden verses of a long-lost Ultimate Sea Shanty."
Along the way they will be able to dress up their pirate, boost stats, acquire special skills, complete side quests, and tick off 50 hilarious GameCenter achievements.
Gilbert hopes to release the iOS game "within the next month."
