According to Koei Tecmo, players will be able to create and customize their playable character’s appearance, political proclivities, and move sets.

The customization options also include personalized family crests, Musou kanji, and portraits.

These characters will be "immersed into the drama of the era," and will play an important part in the lives of historical figures as either friend or foe.

Players will also be able to swap a historical character with a custom character in unlocked cutscenes, which will allow for a more customized experience. And don't forget about being able to import your character from vanilla Samurai Warriors 4. That's pretty cool too.

Samurai Warriors 4 Empires will also launch with the new Castle Customization feature. This allows players to build a Castle and decorate it with unlockable wallpapers and banners collected through missions. The latter can offer extra bonuses such as increased commerce, fame and income.

Information on the Facilities feature in the game was also provided. Here's word straight from Koei Tecmo on that:

"When ruling over a territory that has one or more Facilities, a number of related policies become available. This means that it is not just a matter of which clans are defeated, but also where they are based and what resources they can add to the player’s fief.

"A few examples of these Facilities include the economy-boosting Mines, the Trading Post, the army-upgrading Gunsmith (which allows for riflemen), Horse Farms (which allows for mounted units), the espionage-instigating Ninja Village (which enables Assassination missions), and the more invigorating Hot Springs, among many others.

"The clever use and acquisition of these Facilities gives players a competitive edge in their quest to either rule or unite Japan, and can be used to bestow great tactical and strategic advantages."

Samurai Warriors 4: Empires releases in Europe on March 11 and in North America on March 15 digitally and in stores for PlayStation 4. It will be a digital only title for PS3 and Vita.
