Sam & Max bring The Devil's Playhouse to retail
Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse has been lurking around as a downloadable title for a while now, so we're happy to hear it is about to make the jump to retail.
If you live in "the UK and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, Portugal" or other key European markets, you're in luck. Publisher Lace Mamba Global has confirmed that, this August, the game will be appearing on shelves in those areas in two versions.
The standard edition is just that - standard - while the collector's edition boasts extra special content. Nobody's announced quite what that content is, or how special it will be, but it's something to keep in mind anyway.
Lace Mamba Global organised the retail release for Telltale Games' earlier title, Tales of Monkey Island, so the company has been trusted with the new series of Sam & Max.
"The creative talent and strong distribution network that Lace Mamba Global provides will generate a compelling retail launch for Sam & Max - The Devil's Playhouse in their varied markets," said James Lamorticelli, VP of Publishing at Telltale Games.
The game itself features all five episodes of the Freelance Police team's latest outing, and deals with psychic powers, teleportation, shape shifting, aliens, eldritch gods and an arcane scholar. You knew that already though, right?
