Saints Row 4: Re-Elected PS4 recalled in Australia, incorrect content to blame
Saints Row 4: Re-Elected has been recalled in Australia due to a mysterious manufacturing issue.
An Australian PR representative said that the retail PS4 version of Saints Row 4: Re-Elected has "a serious manufacturing issue" and has been recalled nation-wide.
Here's what we were told (emphasis mine):
"A manufacturing issue has caused an incorrectly classified version of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected for our territory to be released.
"All customers who have purchased the PlayStation 4 version of Saints Row 4: Re-Elected are encouraged to return to their retailer for a full refund.
"Replacement copies with the correct content are on order and will arrive with retailers soon."
We're waiting to hear back on what the problem is, but reading between the lines I think we may have received the international version of the game. As you may remember, Saints Row 4 was initially refused classification in Australia. Publisher Deep Silver and developer Volition Inc elected to cut the problematic content for Australian release.
You can sort of imagine a scenario where Deep Silver accidentally printed the international version for the local PS4 re-release, can't you? And then wince.
